England sentenced to a defeat of 68 to 14 and is taken second in six nations

By Canadian Press on March 15, 2025.

Cardiff, Wales (AP)-England has moved the sick rival Wales with a record of 10 to 14 drubbing in a row to end the Six Nations on Saturday.

England took second place since it was the 2020 champion. The English were a point behind France-Die in the final in Paris Scotland with 35-16 defeated and one point before Ireland's defending champion.

“We did our job,” said England, captain Maro Itoje.

England left the tournament with four wins of five – including France – and his status as a leading rugby power, which was restored after a few hard tight losses for coach Steve Borthwick last year.

Wales' biggest loss in Cardiff began with a score in the third minute for Itoje, one of five attempts in the first half for visitors as Tom Roebuck, Tommy Freeman, replacement Chandler Cunningham-South and Will Stuart passed.

Freeman achieved an attempt in this Six Nations in every game, an first one for an English player.

Try Alex Mitchell, replacement Henry Pollock (twice) and Joe Heyes and then Cunningham-South again the Rout and a record lead of the victory of England via Wales. Pollock's attempts made his debut.

“Even if the results did not go in our way and there were noise outside of noise, we were always consistent. The challenge for our team is to continue to grow and continue to be better, ”said itoje.

The only reaction of Wales was two attempts by Center Ben Thomas, one in every half, and this was another humiliating match for a proud rugby nation, the last victory of which was in October 2023 and last the wooden spoon for the first time in the 142-year history of the tournament.

Seventeen defeats in a row are a record loss for an animal-one nation in the professional era and equally Scotland's run from 1951 to 1955. It is just one behind France's loss strip from 1911 to 20.

The Welshers have lost all their games for two direct campaigns and are in a dark place while looking for a full -time coach to replace Warren Gatland, who left the tournament in the middle of the tournament. Cardiff trainer Matt Shern took over the last three rounds.

From the other records to Tumble, this was the most points that Wales admitted in Cardiff and the most severe loss of six nations in the country.

“It is difficult-all boys are disappointed, but they can not knock the young, the commitment, the efforts in training, how hard we have worked,” said the co-captain of Wales, Jac Morgan. “Hopefully it will come.”
