Kobolde make room for St. Patrick's Day celebrations

North Charleston, SC (WCSC) – Kobolde have already made their way to low -country this weekend when the locals come together to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

61% of the Americans plan to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. According to the National Retail Federation, hundreds have joined the fun of a fan celebration here in the low country.

A sea of ​​green park when a large amount gathered for people to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the block party and the parade of North Charleston, one of the biggest celebrations for the Paddy's Day in the area.

“I think many more people, but also a lot of fun. The camaraderie is great. The energy is great. Parking was simple, so that's a plus. So it was amazing, ”said Becky Hasegawa, resident of Goose Creek.

The event started with a parade at noon, followed by a day full of celebrations, including music, street sellers, activities and games of the children and of course a lot of green everywhere.

Many participants mentioned that they were already at the block party and found that this year's event is even greater than last year.

“We live on James Island and we are from here. There was a lot of movement to the Park Circle area and we came last year. This year there is probably twice as many people, ”said Joe Harder, residents of James Island.

For many present, the day was an opportunity to celebrate its Irish background.

“I like Corned Beef, I like crowds and people and I like to speak to people, but I like it when everyone watches outfit and people. It was a great time to watch the outfit of everyone and which wild t-shirt you put on, ”he said.

The streets were filled with a spectacle of shame rocks and smiles and prove that they do not have to be Irish to join the celebrations and to embrace the spirit of the occasion.

“So I'm not a local from Charleston, but I was born in South Carolina all my life and I would like to experience various festivals, different things in the community. I am a very community-oriented person. So when you come out and experience the culture in every area, I always awaken my interest, ”said Markus McCullough, residents of James Island.

Regardless of whether this is your first, second, third or fourth time, to take part in the Block Party Bash, the turnout has proven that this is really one of the greatest celebrations of the low -country.

“I am a person, so I love everyone, all the music, all smells; It's fun. Everyone is so festive and disguised. I love it, ”said Amanda Anderson, a resident of Summerville

Although a day was carefree, there was a moment to recognize those who worked behind the scenes to keep the event safe and smooth.

“I come to this festival for the first time. I really enjoy it. It's great to see that people have a good time in a safe and happy environment. I want to give all first aiders, security personnel, EMS, applause. Everyone out here who works hard to make sure that we have all fun. It is a very unestestable field and I want to give you a cry to protect everyone, ”said McCullough.
