Georgia Football Wr Tyler Williams will need ankle surgery

One of the broad recipients of Georgia Football will be out of the way during spring practice after an ankle injury.

Tyer Williams wrote in an Instagram post that he suffered torn ligaments in his ankle and will be operated on on Monday.

Georgia organized the third out of 15 spring exercises on Saturday.

The 6-foot 2, 210 pounder of Armwood High in Seffner, Florida, is one of six early recipients of the early participants.

He is one of four newcomers to the team, including CJ Wiley, Talyn Taylor and Landon Roldan. The Bulldogs also signed Thomas Blackshear, which is expected to join the program this summer.

Georgia also added the broad recipients Noah Thomas from Texas A & M and Zachariah Branch from South Cal.

Williams is a four-star recipient who was classified as No. 452 players in the nation in the 247Sports Composite for the 2025 class and the No. 61 player in Florida.

He had 30 catches for 796 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior after switching from Sumer High to Armwood.

“We have a lot of new players,” said coach Kirby Smart on Tuesday. “It feels like more new players than ever before, which I think I say every year. But the numbers don't say that they are more new people, but it definitely feels like this.
