The man from Ohio, who is charged with child pornography to be delivered to Wyoming County, says – Wyoming County Examiner

District Prosecutor Joe Peters

A man from Ohio is delivered by his home state in Wyoming County to file charges for child pornography after having sent inappropriate pictures to a minor girl on the Internet last year, said district prosecutor Joe Peters.

Justin B. Snyder, 39, from Allianz, Ohio, is charged with a crime for children pornography, corruption of a minor and criminal use of a communication facility.

According to a criminal complaint, which was submitted by the state police in Tunkhannock, a soldier received a tip from the Northeast Computer Crimes Unit on October 4, 2024 that Snyder showed a photo of his penis for a 15-year-old girl in a chat on a social media website.

Snyder, who learned that the police were a registered sex offender in Ohio, would ask in return for similar pictures, the complaint said.

The police interviewed the girl on October 23, 2024 in the presence of her mother in her house in Wyoming County. She said she and Snyder had chatted online for months between June and September 2024.

The girl said Snyder told her that she was pretty and that he really liked her. He didn't ask her age at first, but when she finally told him that she was 15 years old, when she was 18, when she became 18, she could move to Ohio to be with him.

Snyder sent the girls' photos of his penis and the videos of him masturbated and asked the girl to send him naked photos and videos, the complaint said.

The girl said Snyder told her about in September that he was 38 years old and a registered sex offender. She said she freaked out and that she said Snyder that she could no longer chat with him. She then reported what happened to the online chat site. The location reported the incident to the national center for missing and exploited children, the complaint said.

The police were handed over against Snyder on March 3. On Friday, Snyder was in prison in Ohio, but had lifted the delivery to Pennsylvania, Peters said.

The public prosecutor will conclude the agreements to bring Snyder to Wyoming County as soon as a judge in Ohio issues a delivery order, said Peters. When he arrives, Snyder is charged with the charges levied by the state police and a preliminary hearing is planned.

“Let my message be clear if there is sufficient evidence of an arrest in which adults are supposedly sexually related behavior in which a minor himself is involved on the Internet, the state limits will not stop us,” said Peters in an email.

“The detailed behavior in the criminal complaint is repulsive, and every parent should be careful that his children can be reached via his phone or computer at any time,” said Peters. “Use your children's electronic devices, check your messages and do it often!”
