Bradley breaks his own records, prepares for nationals

By Morgan Guyer

The senior grant of Northwest Missouri, Grant Bradley, conducted a successful career in athletics and cross-country during his college period. Now he is preparing for the NCAA Division II Indoor Athletics Championships from March 13th to 15th in Indianapolis.

Bradley von Aurora, Co, previously ran in the state of Fort Hays before he joined the Bearcat family last autumn when he took part in Cross Country. He is currently holding the school record in the 3000 m and defeated its best record on February 22nd in Hughes Fieldhouse with a time of 7: 53.33, the fifth of the Fifth in Division II this season. Previously, he broke the record on January 31 at the Washburn (KS) Open. When Bradley approaches the end of his college career, he thought of his success and short time in Maryville.

“I am only blessed that I had the opportunity to further approach my potential under the training of coach Wick. Every performance, from all-American honors in cross country up to a long time, performance in the DMR squad, right up to a conference in the 3000 m season, is pretty bitter sweet because I know that it is my last time to achieve these awards, ”said Bradley. “My favorite part while running in Northwest was the possibilities that I have met with since I arrived. Other men in the team who strive to exploit their full potential and achieve goals like us, while they still have an entertaining environment and connection outside of running, made my one and only the only year very pleasant, and I will never regret the decision to come to the northwest. “

On March 2, Bradley also took home a MIAA championship in the 3000m in Hughes Fieldhouse and ran with the distance medley team, which took second place on February 28. He will compete in both events in Indianapolis.

“We are ready to carry out our racing plans with confidence in this national meeting, and I plan to leave everything on the route in Indianapolis,” said Bradley.

Bradley slowly worked on his distance about his career, and with the help of Assistant Wick Cunningham, he saw great progress.

“I saw every success in Cross Country over the longer distances. As soon as this season ended, I saw enough health to work at a certain speed and I had the perfect mix to compete at a high level in my favorite racing track. I look forward to getting over the barriers and water jump for the obstacle after the same racetrack outdoors, ”said Bradley.

After graduation, Bradley can remain in general healthcare and wellness/sports management in Northwest with a bachelor's degree and start a degree program in the field of training science or kinesiology.
