St. Patrick's Day was celebrated with parades in York, Harrisburg

The parades both took place on Saturday afternoon before the actual St. Patrick's Day on March 17th

York, Pa. – The cities of York and Harrisburg celebrated with parades on Saturday afternoon.

The parade in York started in Penn Market and traveled along the Market Street before ending after the Duke Street. The parade in Harrisburg started on Market Street Bridge before he went to the Second Street on North Street and on the front of Street until it was finished on the Market Street Bridge.

It was estimated that more than 15,000 spectators took part in the Parade in York. This included both Irish and non -Irish observers who wanted to record the atmosphere of the parades.

“The general jubilation, everyone who welcomes everyone from all areas and only celebrate a great day to have a fun time, regardless of whether they are Irish,” said Jonathan Saravia in Lancaster when he was asked why non-Irish people took part in the parade in York.

The participants in York also included Mitch Galloway from Red Lion, who was completely blind. He followed the parade by using AI glasses that combined a camera with language-supported technology to describe the events before it.

“I could see up to 13 years so that I can imagine the colors and descriptions of things,” said Galloway. “I never thought I would see a parade again.”

The first prize for the best float in the York Parade went to the Youth Development Center.
