The Hibernia Irish Society shows the Irish malarkey in front of the parade of St. Patrick's Day

Biloxi, Miss. (WLOX) – The Windy Start on Saturday helped Irish flags in front of St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hibernia Irish Society about Biloxi. Before that, society brought people together to enjoy a good old Irish malarkey.

For the Hibernia Irish Society, the Irish malarkey consists of dance, music, live entertainment and celebration.

“Everyone thinks of this Irish spirit to live only life and enjoy life and everything like this,” said his President Justin Sutton. “This is what we do with it today – in the hope that everyone will come out and have a great time.”

Sutton is one of many who are dressed in their best green and are soaked in the culture of St. Patrick's Day.

“There were Irish immigrants who came to Biloxi, but it is a culture that is not super well represented in this area. So we are really passionate about sharing Irish dance, music and culture with the community,” said Amy Bowman.

Bowman teaches the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance in D'Iberville. March is her most busy performance season.

“This is a year -round thing,” she said. “We have classes all year round. We have prepared the dances that you will probably see today last summer. “

48 years ago, society gathered in a nearby parking lot to celebrate its legacy. Now it's a communitywide event.

“You don't have to be Irish from birth,” added Sutton. “You can just like or want to be Irish.”

The spirit of Irish malarkey will probably take until Monday – the day of St. Patrick's Day is recognized.
