Starbucks ordered, 50 million US dollars to pay compensation after Hot Drink has burned the delivery driver hard | Deployment

A California jury has ordered Starbucks to pay $ 50 million ( £415 Crore) to a delivery driver who has suffered severe burns due to a buried hot drink. The incident occurred in a passage in Los Angeles when Michael Garcia took an order, CNN reported.

The hot drink tensioned on his lap and caused “heavy burns, distortions and weakening nerve damage to his genitals (Pexel).

Michael Parker, Garcia's lawyer, explained that his customer collected three drinks when one of the hot drinks was not completely put in the container. When the barista handed over the order, the drink slipped on Garcia.

The court awarded damages for Garcia's physical pain, mental stress, the loss of life, humiliation and emotional suffering, as recorded by the Courtroom View Network.

However, Starbucks has announced plans to question the decision. “We sympathize with Mr. Garcia, but we do not agree to the jury's decision that we were to blame for this incident and believe that the damage will be awarded as excessive,” said a spokesman for the company. “We have always committed ourselves to the highest security standards in our business, including dealing with hot drinks.”

The case attracts comparisons with the generally known complaint from 1994 against McDonald's, in which Stella Liebeck burned on itself after the spilled hot coffee. It initially received almost 3 million US dollars.
