Lando Norris took over the pole position for the Australian Grand Prix of the opening of the season after replacing the McLaren teammate Oscar Piatri.

Norris dropped Piatri's Challenge by only 0.084 seconds when McLaren secured an impressive F1 lockout in the front series in Melbourne. The world champion Max Verstappen finished a distant third place with Mercedes' George Russell fourth. Yuki Tsunoda from RB took a surprise fifth, a place ahead of Williams' Alex Albon.

It was a disappointing afternoon for Ferrari with Charles Leclerc only seventh, a place in front of the team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who will start with the eighth position for his Ferrari debut. Hamilton was 0.877 seconds from Norris.

Last year, Carlos Sainz won a famous victory on the tricky Albert Park Street Circuit in Melbourne when he led a Ferrari One-Two in front of Charles Leclerc. Who will be victorious on Sunday?
