Brush fire burns several morning land

Pinch, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Strong and steady winds hit many parts of the region on Saturday, which ignited a brush fire in the Kanawha district.

Elijah Hager said he was in his mobile phone burning waste in his garden when the wind became too strong and spread the fire beyond its fire pit.

It happened early Saturday afternoon along the Keaton Ridge Road.

The on -site crews said that the fire was driven by wind and three to four acres were on fire.

“I am at the front of the trailer and burned a few cardboard boxes and things – the wind brought the ashes to the back of the trailer,” said Hager.

Hager is grateful for the first aiders who helped.

“I am very relieved, very relieved that they could make sure [the] Fire was out. I appreciate each of them, ”said Hager.
