The fast actions of a boy steered on a structural tax

Signal Mountain, Tenn. (WDEF) – Signal Mountain's fire brigade reacted to a structural fire after a little young flames discovered and quickly drew attention to his parents.

They immediately called 911 and allowed the firefighters on site within minutes.

Signal Mountain's fire brigade reacted to the possible house fire on 7 Rock Crest Drive.

On arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire from the roof and a bedroom window on the second floor.

Ben Cairns, the partner of the house owner, described the terrible moment.

“It was terrifying to see how fire could get out of the house,” said Cairns. “The fire engines just arrived when I arrived there, so everything was pretty dramatic.”

Townsend Collins Jr., a young neighbor, played an important role when he saw the fire in his early stages and reported it.

We talked to Collins Jr. about what he saw and how he discovered fire.

“I played on my iPad and then I heard like a big bang. So I looked there on the window and then saw as if I was just looking for trees, and then I saw the fire … it was a little fire, and it got bigger and then she called 911. “

He tells us that he is glad that everyone was safe.

According to Cairns, the fire was not burned long for firefighters.

“The firefighters told me that it was a big lightning strike,” he developed. “Neighbors say a little boy next door discovered the fire and we were contacted immediately. The fire brigade came at the same time when I did. “

Cairns praised the efficiency of the firefighters and emphasized their teamwork and communication.

“It is really impressive to see how the fire brigade reacted,” said Cairns. “There were five or six fire engines here, the police were here and an ambulance was in standby. They were very well prepared. “

While the flames were quickly included, the house suffered considerable water damage.

“They were very quick and tidy as they approached the fire,” he noted. “They switched off the electricity, rated where the fire was, and worked in teams to attack it from above. You quickly got it out with the water. I was pretty impressed by everyone and they continued to keep me up to date and when I could go back into the house. “

Signal Mountain Fire Chief confirmed that the fire was caused by a lightning strike.

Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Cairns allowed news 12 in the house to document the extent of the damage, including water damage in the entire structure.

At the moment, the homeowners are waiting for a complete assessment.

However, fire officials appreciate the damage to around 200,000 US dollars.
