Most of the people captured by the GDF were Chinese citizens, followed by Vietnamese and Indonesians, said the spokesman.

According to the BGF, 98 percent of these people had come to Shwe Kokko willingly and were not victims of human trafficking. The spokesman said most foreigners had Thai visas and had crossed the border through legitimate routes.

Several high -ranking Thai police officers were subjected to their possible connections to the fraud centers and cross -border human trafficking from their positions.
