Trowbridge Town FC has collected thousands to enable the standard for promotion

The work is to begin on the site of the historical football club of a city to support his fight against promotion, his chairman said.

Trowbridge Town FC in Wiltshire has increased thousands of pounds to bring its Woodmarsh pitch to the standard that is required for the next step of the non-League soccer pyramid.

The club used to be a top football team without a league before dissolving in 1997, but now it is playing in the district's senior league.

“This will raise the entire club and help the development of young players to the adult team,” said club chairman Andrew Meaden.

The work to improve the field so that the club should progress the next step of the non-League soccer system should begin in May, added Mr. Meaden.

“The minimum we have to do is difficult to stand on two sides, he said, he said BBC Radio Wiltshires Sport at six Program.

“It must be connected to what needs to be one meter wide. Unfortunately, our shelters are 30 cm too close.

“We will knock them down and move them.

“We have to install floodlights so that we have the building permit and the financing for eight floodlight pylons to go into it.”

The association, reformed in 1998, wants to get to the Western League, which was since the restart of its highest level.

Mr. Meaden said the work would enable the teams to return to the field and help younger players.

“We have a Vets team that is currently playing at the Selwood Academy in Frome so that they come back here,” he added.

“We hope to start a team under the age of 18 that comes back here, and we can play under the age of 17 under 16 games and play under 16 if we wish.

“Even for the first time in 29 years, I hope that we can offer the Trowbridge and District Football League the chance to play a cup final in Trowbridge.”
