Hamas: The publication depends on Israel | The Arkansa's democrat gazette

Cairo-the Hamas said on Saturday that she would only publish an American Israel and the corpses of four other hostages when Israel implemented her ceasefire contract and describes it as a “extraordinary offer” to bring the ceasefire back on the right track. In the meantime, according to doctors, Israeli air strikes have killed nine people in Gaza, including local journalists.

A high -ranking officer of Hamas said that long -term talks about the second phase of the ceasefire would have to start the day of publication and do not take longer than 50 days. Israel would also have to stop entering humanitarian aid and withdraw from a strategic corridor along the Gaza border with Egypt. Israel said that it will not withdraw there and quotes the need to combat gun smuggling.

Hamas would also demand the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for hostages, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the talks.

The 21 -year -old Edan Alexander, who grew up in New Jersey, became attacked by his military base during the attack on October 7, 2023. He is the last living US citizen in Gaza. Hamas still has 59 hostages, 35, which were considered dead.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the negotiators late Saturday that they should prepare for the continuation of the talks about the release of hostages, his office said.

In the meantime, two Israeli air raids in the northern city of Beit Lahiya near the border killed at least nine people, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

The Palestinian journalist 'Protection Center, a local guard dog, said that the dead included three Palestinian journalists who documented the distribution of help. Local health officers Tarizer Awad identified one as Mahmoud Islim who operated a drone.

The Israeli military said that two people were hit who did a drone that said that soldiers in the region were a threat. It is said that another strike started with a group of people who came to collect the drone equipment. The army identified all those who were addressed as alleged militants without providing evidence.

In an explanation, Hamas described the attack as a “serious escalation”, such as the attempts of Israel to implement the opportunity to implement the ceasefire contract.

Also on Saturday, Israel's military said that a train from soldiers from Gaza Strip, which were seen in a video on social media, opened fire during a celebration of Purim's Jewish vacation. The video apparently randomly shows soldiers, while another executes the usual reading of the book Esther. The military said that the soldiers “will be exposed to disciplinary measures”.

There have been no major fights in Gaza since the ceasefire on January 19, but Israeli strikes killed dozens of Palestinians who said the military that there were no authorized areas, militant activities or otherwise violated the ceasefire.

The United States said that on Wednesday they submitted a proposal to extend the ceasefire by a few weeks, while the pages negotiate a constant ceasefire. Hamas claimed flexibility in public and privately made “completely impractical” requirements.

The talks continued in Egypt, which together with Qatar served as a mediator with Hamas in the indirect conversations with Israel.

Israel and Hamas were supposed to begin negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire in early February, but only preparatory talks were held. In phase 2, Hamas would publish all remaining hostages in exchange for a permanent ceasefire.

In the first phase, 25 Israeli hostages and the corpses of eight others were published in the exchange of almost 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. The Israeli forces returned to a buffer zone along the Gaza border and enabled an increase in humanitarian aid.

After the first phase ended at the beginning of this month, Israel said that it was approved by a new US proposal in which Hamas would publish half of the remaining hostages in order to negotiate a vague obligation to negotiate permanent ceasefire. Hamas rejected this offer.

Netanyahus office announced in an explanation that he had detailed talks with the negotiation team and the security officers on Saturday evening. He then asked the negotiation team to prepare for the continued discussions in accordance with the reaction of the mediator for the proposal of US envoy Steve Witkoff, the statement said.

For two weeks now, Israel has banned the delivery of food, fuel and other supplies to the approximately 2 million Palestinians from Gaza and cut electricity to the territory a week ago to put Hamas under pressure.

The southern city of Rafah on the border between Gazaa Egypt said that it could no longer deliver fuel that is needed to pump water from dozens of fountains.

Ahmed al-Sufi, head of the community, said that the lack of fuel caused by the Israeli siege had forced to “suspend essential services and to threaten the life of thousands”.

The war has destroyed large areas in the Gaza, sold most of the population and made almost all dependent on international aid.

The war started when the militants led by Hamas stormed in South Israel, around 1,200 people, mainly civilians, killed and took 251 hostages. Most were released in shops, while Israel saved eight living hostages and regained the corpses of dozens.

According to Gaza's Ministry of Health, the Israeli military offensive killed more than 48,000 Palestinians, mainly women and children, in which the fighters were not. Israel says that it killed around 20,000 militants without providing any evidence.
