Fire, the Buchen -Mountain -Cabins destroyed, caused by a lightning strike

Lightning hit a balcony and triggered the huge fire, which destroyed several houses in the Beech Mountain.

Beech Mountain, NC – Several Beech mountain houses were destroyed by an overnight fire, which was probably caused by lightning before the storm on Sunday.

The crews reacted to the Snow Tree Villas on a reported fire in the early Sunday. Witnesses said Blitz hit one of the rear decks and triggered the fire. The flames spread quickly and caused several houses on fire.

Videos and photos sent to WCNC Charlotte showed crews that worked on containing the flames. The fire was checked, but was not destroyed in front of at least two houses and cars.

One person informed WCNC Charlotte that she lived with a lost home and two cars to the fire. No injuries were reported, but the fire has significantly damaged the community.

“Lightning struck the rear deck two doors and then the transformers began to blow,” said Crystal Rogers. “Power is on the mountain, fire engines had to cut through fallen trees.”
