Couple dies of alleged geysirgasleck after Holi celebration | Meerut News

Meerut: A few allegedly died on Friday evening of a suspected gas leaf in her bathroom after playing Holi with the family in the Chhota Bazar area in Garh Mukhteshwar Tehsil, Hapur, Hapur.
Naveen Gupta, 44, a stamp seller, and his wife Kavita alias Sakshi Gupta, 40, went to the toilet to clean in Holi and were later found unconscious.
Naves mother, Bala Devi, said the family had become worried when the couple stayed unusually long inside and did not respond to calls. When the repeated knock remained unanswered, she alerted the neighbors, who opened the door for violent and found it unconscious.
Naves brother Praveen Kumar said: “The door was opened and they were lying on the floor.
“The whole incident is shocking. We played Holi together only hours earlier,” added Kumar.
Dr. Anand Mani, Garh Mukhteshwar CHC, said gas gauces can release carbon monoxide, which can be fatal. “Place the placing of gas syrups in a bathroom removes oxygen and fills the room with toxic gas. The couple may not have recognized when the leak appeared and lost awareness after inhaling,” he said.
The couple is survived by two sons, Divyam (15) and Madhav, 9. Her last rites were carried out late at night without police participation in the banks of the Ganga. “The family did not inform the police,” said Co Garh Mukhteshwar Stuti Singh.
Similar incidents in Ghaziabad in 2023 and 2018 concerned couples who suffocated to Holi in Badezimmern.
