2018 Bridge Run 5K announces details for the Sunday start | video

The Road race of Bridge Run Run Run Half Marathon & 5k is at the starting line for the kickoff on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Bridge Run coordinators and the Greater Binghamton's Chamber of Commerce announced the latest details for the marathon. The Bridge Run 2018 includes six new events events and activities for all age groups:

  • 1/2 marathon medal on the Court Street Bridge
  • 1/2 marathon relay
  • 2 person 1/2 marathon relay
  • Children's zone with inflatable boats
  • Children walk fun through the bases of the rumble ponies (with Rowdy)
  • After racing party (drinks, live music and more)

The open course is relatively the same as last year, but instead of walking along the Riverside Drive, you will drive along the Leroy Street.

In 2017, the Bridge Run gathered an estimated 2000-3000 runners for all funny activities, including an annual favorite “The Cool Down”. The runners and supporters allow themselves to relax with food, drinks and live music after their races. This year the music is made available by the respected band 'Hotdogs and Gin'.

The racing registration will be completed tomorrow, May 2, 2018, at 12 p.m., but you can still register at Binghamtonbridgerun.org.

On Friday, May 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 5th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Worldwide Sport Supply, a limited registration will be limited on Friday, May 4th.

The Binghamton Chamber of Commerce organizes the bridge run every year and thus chose another local charity organization to maintain the proceeds. This year it was the retired professional firefighter Cancer Fund Inc., who is supposed to have an impact on cancer among the firefighters.
