The Beaumont police examined the shootout at the gas station in the early morning

Beaumont, Texas – The Beaumont police were called early Sunday morning with regard to a shootout at a Shell petrol station in front of 10915 Eastex Freeway.

When the officials arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound on her lower leg. Officials immediately performed medical aids until Ems arrived and, according to the Beaumont police authority, transported them to a local hospital.

A later examination later showed that the shot came from one of four people who, according to the Beaumont police department, arrived in a white Mercedes in the shop.

Officers say, while in the vehicle a rifle was accidentally released, which led to an injury around 1:40 a.m. The officials recovered three rifles and several used shells from the vehicle.

The Beaumont police authority did not say whether arrests were made or named as a suspect. The incident remains examined.

The woman's condition is currently unknown.
