Softball Run-Rules #13 Salisbury as part of Sunday Siegen with Margie Knight Classic

Salisbury, MD (March 16, 2025)-The Tufts University's softball team has been presenting the worst loss since May 2022 since May 2022, when the Jumbos defeated Margie Knight Classic, 8-0 with 8: 0. The Jumbos used to achieve a 3-1 win against the College of New Jersey (TCNJ) for a Sunday extensions on the last day at the tournament.

Tufts (4-6) has now won six games against Salisbury in a row, all of which, apart from today, come in the NCAA tournament. The Rum-Rule victory for Tufts was the first time that the Seestedswege (11-2) had lost this way against Trine University at the NCAA Division III World Series 2022 since a 9-1 defeat.

Lauryn Horita Beat a first Grand Slam, Heaven Oliva In the second and Sophia dicocco Put on a five-in-ending for the jumbos against Salisbury. In the TCNJ win, Fallon O'Connor Won her first college pitching win when Dicocco drove a save and Kerriiann Slayton in two runs.

Tufts 3, College of New Jersey 1

O'Connor allowed a lead-off-single to Tcnjs Kaci, who graduated in the first inning, but then the next 14 lions retired to the fifth. She would give three hits and a run in the sixth, but Sophia dicocco came in to end O'Connor's first career win. She went 5.1 Inning and allowed four goals and one run. Dicocco withdrew five of the six batteries with which she was exposed to.

Tufts went a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Bela Jimenez tackled down the right field line and Kaitlyn Perucci Followed by the doubling from her to third place. Kerrand Slaytone single to the right scored the run.

A single field on the left of Sarah Cullen directed what Tufts would be two runs. After a victim of Jimenez, Perucci met her second double of the day to achieve Cullen. Slayton then flows out to the left to achieve a sack flyer RBI and there were 3-0 jumbos.

In the TCNJ sixth, Gianna Vazquez led O'Connor through the left side with a single. After a victim of inclination, Olivia Santos and Julia Kinnally beats singles with Kinnally's hit prise-runner Jules Fuchs. Dicocco stepped in at this point and excluded the next two lions to end the threat.

O'Connor and Dicocco only allowed five goals and did not go dough. Perucci and two RBIs from Slayton guided the two of them on the plate.

Sophomore Maya Knasiak had a good trip on a loss of TCNJ, which allowed seven goals and three runs in Sieben Innings. The Lions fell to 5-6.

Tufts 8, Salisbury 0 (5 Inn.)

The Jumbos, who played as a home team in a tournament game, stormed out of the goal against Salisbury. They scored six runs at the end of the first one before an out was made. Jimenez and Perucci performed with singles and both occurred on a wild field. Both scored on Salisbury Miscues. Horita then started her Grand Slam Homerun to make 6-0 jumbos in the shortest possible time.

Tufts would then expand to 8-0 on Oliva Homerun with an out in the second inning, her fourth year in 10 games. The Homer scored Perucci, who had secured in so many innings for her second goal.

In the meantime, Dicocco had the start for the Jumbos and withdrew the first eight Sears rackers until Alayna Gigliotti arrived in the third with two outs. Dicocco would determine 15 of the 17 batteries, which she was exposed to when Lexie Delcollo was the only other sea dryer that could be achieved in the fifth error. The switch -off is the 21st of the Dicocco career.

Perucci (2 for 3, 2 runs), Oliva (1 for 2, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) and Horita, who went next to their Grand Slam twice, led the jumbos offensive.

The starter of Salisbury, Isabella Purdy, has not recorded a record in three goals and five deserved runs. Justyce Richard did a good job in her four Innings of Relief (4 IP, 3 H, 2 R) to settle down the Jumbo bats.

Next

Tufts will stay south and play on his Spring Break trip on Wednesday and Saturday at the Christoper Newport University on the Randolph-Macon College.
