Cal Quantrill 'Trend in the right direction' when fish drown the Redbirds – Miami Marlins Talk

Separate four-run inside and five runs were more than enough for the Marlins to put St. Louis away on Sunday.

Jupiter, Fla. – While the training result of spring is not everything, you can find consolation among established players who approach themselves more like the regular season.

About 11 days before the Ligweit opening day, the Marlins had one these days of days with Roger Dean in their 11: 5 victory against their common tenant, the St. Louis Cardinals.

Start his third spring, Cal QuantrillThe most remarkable addition to the association and the owner of an era north from 17 to his first two outings has written three goalless Innerings.

“I think the first two innings were very good. The third inning, just a long wait between inning, I didn't get out the urgency I needed. I really can't afford to go too many eight and nine rackets, so I was a little luck. The command felt better, and for the most part we trend in the right direction,” said Quantrill.

At 23 of his 43 offers (53.3%), Quantrill only registered strikes and helped himself to delete his couple previously issued free passes by two successful attempts at pick -up at his last work. The now 30-year-old led the National League at 69 last season allowed hikes, his lonely in Colorado.

The Long Inning mentioned above came when the Marlins, after they recently distributed four runs in the lower end of the second runs, followed with a five-run floor of the third.

Eight of the nine starters scored a hit in the victory, including Xavier Edwards, who continued a hot source with a two-way RBI performance with two goals and increased his average to 0.333. The Marlins Shortstop secured the base in 12 of its 13 games this spring.

The most encouraging was perhaps the rounding-in-shape performance of Jonah Bride, who highlighted the day with a double Homerun in front of St. Louis Ace Sonny Gray and limited a 2-against-3 day on the plate. While he would describe it as a slow start with its average of .138 blow into the game, Bride – the owner of a 121 OPS+ in 272 record appearances last season – had started spring with spring in almost 17 percent of his record appearances.

“The big thing, mixed a few barrels, but not the results,” commented the bride after the game. “I just have to be more consistent and continue to check the strike zone.”
