8 years Yogi Govt: 222 dreaded criminals killed, 8118 injured in police encounters

Since the assumption of the office in March 2017, Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath government has performed a procedure against criminals and the mafia, which led to a total of 222 feared criminals that were neutralized in police encounters and 8,118 criminals that were injured in the company.

In the Press Communique, Prashann Kumar, General Director of the Police (DGP), reported that the government successfully pursued 68 identified mafia criminals from March 2017 to December 2024, which led to lifelong prison sentence or severe conviction for 31 Mafias and 74 Co-criminals in 73 cases. Remarkably, two criminals received the death penalty. Up to 795 cases were arrested against 68 identified Mafias and 1,408 employees of their gangs in the state, from which 617 were arrested. Apart from that, the arms licenses of 359 criminals were canceled, and measures were taken against 18 criminals under the NSA.

Around 752 criminals were punished according to the Gangster Act, while illegal property was more than value than £4,076 Crore were confiscated. The state government has also become intensively involved in crime against women and minors. So far, the culprits have been punished with dowry in 27,425 cases, 11,254 cases of the Pocso law and 3,775 cases of deaths.

Between July 2023 and December 2024, the conviction of the Yogi government led to 51 defendants who were awarded the death penalty. 6,287 criminals received a lifelong prison sentence with 1,091 criminals that were convicted of more than 20 years.

The government freed more than 66,000 hectares of land from the illegal line-up by forming a four-stage task force for anti-land mafia mafia. A hundred and forty -for -one Landmafias were identified and legal steps were taken against them.

Since 2017, the Special Task Force (STF) has prevented 653 hideous crimes before they could occur.

In the meantime, the ATS has arrested 130 terrorists and 171 Rohingya/Bangladesh criminal and its employees since 2017.
