The apartment fire allegedly started with “fallen cigarette ash”

An apartment lost damages of almost 150,000 US dollars after “cigarette has dropped” a fire.

Shortly after 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, the Layton City Fire and Hill Air Force Base department reacted to an apartment fire near the North Hillfield Road from 1925.

When they set off, the crews said that they could see a large column of smoke from “some distance”.

The first reports showed that the fire had started in a bedroom of a two -story four -story plex. The resident reported that “having dropped a cigarette ash,” said the fire brigade, although a conclusion, how the fire started, has not yet been determined.

When the first unit arrived, firefighters found severe flames from the south and western lower windows of one of the units.

The fire did not seem to have spread to the other units.

The crews used several hose lines and deleted the fire within ten minutes after arrival.

Other units on site ensured that all of the units were evacuated in the neighboring units and supported the security functions of the incidents in ventilation, water supply, overhaul and the incident functions.

The Layton Police Department and Davis County's Sheriff helped in traffic control.

The apartment lost damages of around 150,000 US dollars.

No injuries were reported.
