Tarrytowns 2025 Saint Patrick's Day Parade

March 16, 2025

The weather in the Hudson Valley, lately, has been so friendly to enable dozens of motorcycles, firefighters, marching bands, scout troops and civic organizations, from Main Street in Tarrytown to Broadway from Sleepy Hollow too rainless.

The festive atmosphere at the 29th annual parade of St. Patrick's Day was subdued by the absence of Sister Susan Gardella, founder and inspiration for the RSHM Life Center, which made food, clothing and hope for impoverished children. It was supposed to have served as a large marshal of the parade, but unfortunately died in mid -January. In their place, representatives of the life center were together with its non -profit partner Gullotta House.

The ubiquitous headless rider

The mayors and trustees of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow marched, as did officials from the Townships of Greenburgh and Mt. Pleasant, the district and the state. Congressman George Latimer blocked weapons with the majority leader of the Senate, Andrea Stewart Cousins. And of course the ubiquitous headless rider Hugh Francis and St. Patrick himself, Joe Kelly, marched between fire engines and bands.

Although Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow were hosting the parade, the representative of many surrounding communities – Irvington, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Ardsley, Pocantico Hills, Elmsford, Ossining, Nyack and beyond – was the celebration. The Ecuadorian Society of West Chesters came in colorful clothing in the form of swirling dancers, as did Los Frailes, which represented the Dominican Republic.

There were girls, scouts and scouts, the ARDSLEY High School softball team – and a contingent from the transfiguration school that completed his last class in 2024, the TuSfD Board of Education.

As always, numerous bourgeois and non -profit groups marched: Horseman's Harvest and the Rotary Club of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, with the two ducks holding the annual day of the duck victory and family kids again this spring. The health care staff were represented by several volunteer corps of the village and a contingent of Northwell Health.
