Double shots in Mechanicsville leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

The Atlanta police examined a double shooting in Mechanicsville who left one person and another in the hospital.

A witness remembered the creepy moments when she tried to help the victims before paramedics arrived.

What we know:

A fatal double shots in Mechanicsville breastfeeding traffic near the intersection of McDaniel Street and the Whitehall Street on Sunday.

The Atlanta police said the call about the shootout came shortly before 1 p.m.

When the investigators arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman who was sitting in a white Nissan Altima who suffered from gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to the hospital with ambulances. The male victim was later declared dead.

Detective spent several hours on site to look for evidence.

What you say:

A woman who did not want to be identified was close to the work when she heard the excitement outside and immediately went to help.

“We heard a young lady screaming and roaring. I ran there and we saw blood on her arm,” she recalled.

The woman tells Fox 5 that she has been working in a restaurant nearby for almost 20 years and has recognized the young man who was killed.

“I only pray for the family of the young man, I know the family that I pray for her family,” she said.

Although she was worrying, she says that it is not unusual for this part of the city.

“I always see someone shot. That is nothing new in the Mechanicsville area.”

She tells FO 5 that she believes that a larger police presence would help to deter violent crimes along the corridor.

It is unclear who fired the fatal recordings here. The police say that they are working on determining the circumstances in this incident.

The police did not identify any of the victims at this point.
