A person who was injured in shooting in the Travel Center in Marion

On Sunday, March 16, at around 2:54 a.m., Marion's police officers reacted to a report on a dispute and shooting at the Pilot Travel Center in the Sugar Hill Road.

When the first answering officers arrived on site, they learned that the incident had taken place outside in the parking lot.

The officials were also drawn to the fact that the victim and the suspect had already left the scene.

Through preliminary examination and video material, which the suspect later identified as Noah Dakota Ramsey and the victim Christian Nelson, met the pilot to settle in a dispute. At some point during the dispute, Ramsey produced a 9 -mm pistol and began to shoot Nelson and Nelson's friend Caleb McNeeley, which stood in the parking lot near the business.

After Ramsey fired the gun, fled and fled from the scene in a vehicle that was driven by his girlfriend Michelle Honeycutt by Old. Nelson and McNeeley also left the scene before the officials arrived to find medical help, since Nelson was hit by rounds from the pistol.

After a short visit to the McDowell Hospital mission, the officials Nelson found and learned that he had received at least two gunshot wounds, one in every leg. Nelson was treated and later released from the hospital for his injuries. McNeeley was not injured during the exchange.

After several hours, Ramsey and Honeycutt were also localized and voluntarily came to the Marion Police Department to talk to civil servants about the incident. During the interviews, the officials also learned that Ramsey Honeycutt had attacked by initially met them when traveling to the pilot.

Ramsey was arrested and then charged with the following:

1 meter attack with a fatal weapon that causes serious injuries

1 count attack with a fatal weapon

1 count that discharges a firearm in the city limits

1 count of an attack on a woman

Ramsey was brought in front of a magistrate in which he was locked up in the McDowell County prison in a 48 -hour support. During this incident, no other parties were injured or hit by stray balls.
