Marc Marquez wins Argentina MotoGP to maintain a perfect start | Motorsport messages

The six-time MotoGP world champion extends his unbeaten run from 2025 with the victory on the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit.

Ducatis glowing Marc Marquez won the Grand Prix in Argentina after he had had his brother Alex of Gresini Racing for a large part of the race when the couple became the first two again, while the Franco Morbidelli from VR46 Racing finished third.

Just like in the Grand Prix in Thailand, the pole sitter Marc had another perfect weekend after winning the sprint on Saturday to remain with a lead of 16 points against Alex at the top of the MotoGP Riders' Championship.

When he returned to Argentina for the first time since 2019, Marc was practically inviolable, with a mistake that made Alex possible to ruthlessly reach the first place before the older siblings and never to look back.

MotoGP did not have two brothers for 76 years who took first and second place, but the Marquez brothers reached the feat twice within two weeks.

The victory on Sunday also experienced its 90th victory in all classes to meet the deceased great angel Nieto, and the Spaniard wore a racing wreath with the words “Gracias Angel”, which pointed out to heaven.

“Super happy to reach Angel Nieto, and this victory is for him and his family because he was an ace. Super important for the Spanish motorcycle world … a pleasure to equate him, ”said Marc.

“Today, self -confidence with the rear was not super good, I had a few problems there. I saw that Alex was urging, he checked the race.

“I said: 'Ok, P2 today will be fine'. But in the end I started to feel better and better … and then it was better with the used tire. It is difficult to attack your brother. “

The two -time MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia was fourth and the Italian is already 31 points behind its new team -mate Marc Marquez.

Fabio di Giannonio was fifth for VR46 racing.

The next event in the 22-round season is the Americas MotoGP in Austin, Texas, from March 28th to 30th.
