Taxi driver plays while driving PUBG

A video of a taxi driver who plays on a busy PUBG street has appeared online. The clip, which apparently was taken up by a passenger in the back seat, shows the driver on his phone as the street in front of us. The video was said to be recorded on a street in Hyderabad.

Indiatoday.in, however, was unable to check the date and place of the viral video independently.

The 10-second clip reveals the driver who uses both hands to play the online game and left the steering wheel largely unattended. The video also shows Google Maps on a separate phone.

Since published online, the video has been shared by several users on various social media platforms. However, it was originally published by a user on Reddit in his “Carsindia” community.

Take a look at the viral video here:

Social -Media users beat the driver and demanded strict measures against him for hazardous to life. “I would get out of the taxi immediately. It is not worth it. If the taxi company wants payment, just send them the video,” said one user while another was added: “How would you leave it? The vehicle is literally in motion.”

“The normal approach is to tell the taxi driver that he should pull and go out as soon as he continues,” said one of the users.

One user said: “The person should be identified and his driver's license should be exposed.”

“I would just ask him to park it on the side of the road, to end the journey and to go,” added another user.

Remarkably, PUBG was banned in India in 2020. The Indian version of the online trade, BGMI or Battle Boygrounds Mobile India was also removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in 2022.

The government had banned around 250 Chinese apps and explained that they were a threat to sovereignty and integrity, defense, national security and public order.

In 2023, BGMI returned to the app store almost 10 months after the ban in the country.
