The third annual Rhody Regatta starts in 2025 'Die Bay'

The third annual Rhody Regatta, which is organized by the International Yacht and Athletic Club (IYAC) in Newport and which will go to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, will take place in the Providence on Saturday, May 31. With a single mid-distance race, about 18 miles, length of Jamestown, length of Jamestown (Conanicut Bay).

In changes to the format, the start and finish area near Gould Island will be located at the previous start/end near Fort Adams, and the award ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 1st, in the Bristol Yacht Club.

“These changes give boats from Upper Bay easier access to the race,” said Pat Kennedy, who has the event with his IYAC partner Mick Harvey Co-Chairman. You can just gather the next evening to join the camaraderie and Merrymaking in the Bristol Yacht Club, and we can all remember why we sail: the sport that gave us so much and to return the less happy about the Rhode Island Food Bank. “

Harvey said that the Rhody Regatta fills a gap on June 1st weekend that left the (broken) leukemia cup. “It's just about spreading the word, so the boat owners know that they bring their boats early. We gain dynamics, coordinate public relations with the twenty hundred club and work with companies such as the Bristol Yacht Club to make this a funny, meaningful regatta. “Harvey added that all crew members are welcome at the Sunday Awards party without charges, and on Saturday after the race, the IYAC organizes the assembly of a competitor (also free of charge) to celebrate the race day.

The funds collected during the Rhody Regatta in 2025 are donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, which provides foods of 147 member agencies from 147 member agencies per month. This year, the Food Bank will identify our needs in response to an unprecedented need for food aid over £ 16 million, freshly and culturally relevant foods.

“We are so grateful to be appointed as beneficiaries of the third annual Rhody Regatta donation campaign,” said Lisa Roth Blackman, Chief Philanthropy Officer from Food Bank. “These funds come at a critical time if too many of our neighbors are unable to afford adequate food. We are grateful to the members of this community to help. “

Fundraising

Skipper are asked to make a donation of at least 250 US dollars to Food Bank with a direct link on the IYAC and Food Bank websites. (In order to be credited to a specific team, the team name should be displayed in the reference line.)

The prices will be awarded to the top three boats of the corrected time in each class, in the best corrected overall time and the team, which most funds collects for the Ri Community Food Bank.

The Rhody Regatta is open to all cruises/racing yachts with or without 2025 Phrf from Narragansett Bay Handicap. The fleet is divided according to evaluation and other factors at the discretion of IYAC racing management into handicap and one-design classes.
