BYD published 10c megawatt charging stations in China

On March 17, BYD released the 10c Megawatt charging stations, which are suitable for car cars with the 1000 V high-voltage system. You can charge 400 km range in 5 minutes. The company's chairman, Wang Chuanfu, announced that BYD will set up for four thousand megawatt charging stations across China.

BYD was often criticized for its slow DC charging function. Although BYD's LFP batteries were safe, it took longer than Ternaren NMC packs from other manufacturers. The largest NEV manufacturer in the world decided to change it. As a result, the company prepared for starting its first vehicles based on the 1000 V high-voltage system. In order to reach this BEVS, BYD officially published the 1000 kW charger. It's called “Megawatt Flash charger”.

BYD 1000 kW charger & battery

BYD published the world's first charger with 1000 V and 1000A. It has a top output of 1000 kW or 1 MW. Thanks to this crazy number, the BYD stack supports the 10C load. It can charge 400 km in 5 minutes. It's two kilometers in one second! During the live test, this station reached the performance level of 1 MW in 10 seconds (while he Han L eV and Tang L eV). The loading time of the car from 7% to 50% was only 4.5 minutes.

The BYD Megawatt Flash charger is the most powerful car stack in the industry. The core competitors also show an impressive performance. However, they still remain:

  • Tesla V4: 500 kw.
  • Li Auto 5c: 520 kw.
  • Nio Power: 640 kw.
  • Xpeng S5: 800 kW

Of course, the test car was equipped with the latest battery of the BYD with a 1500 V silicon-carbohydrate performance module. Thanks to this element, the battery can effectively unload. As a result, BYD HAN L EV 4WD and Tang L EV 4WD have an electric motor of 580 kW in the rear axle with this system on board. This electric motor can reach 30,511 rpm. The power-to-weight ratio of the car is 16.4 kW/kg (22 hp/kg). At 30,000 rpm, this electric motor still has 524 kW of electricity.

As a result, a BYD brand-EV with the latest technology in a 2-second area can accelerate by up to 100 km/h. In addition, you can repeatedly accelerate to 100 km/h more than 70 times. The top speed of the car is over 300 km/h (the top speed of Han L eV is 305 km/h).
