Triple crowning in three years, ultra -light tips and cold soaking with Austen McDaniel (BPR #297)

In today's episode of Backpacker Radio, presented by The Trek, which you brought to you from LMNT, we are accompanied by Austen McDaniel, who are known as a PI on trail. If this name sounds known, it is because we have read it for years at the end of every episode, since Austen is one of our Patreon supporters awarded Chuck Norris.

But not only is a long -standing patron saint, Austen is also a damn good backpacker woman who has completed the Triple Crown in three consecutive years. He approached his first round, as he ever spoken, and hit the Appalachian Trail with a six-pound base weight after he disagreed his setup on various Shakedown hikes. He carries out to us, as he managed to shave additional ounces and grams from his backpack, share some funny ultra -light hacks and to make tips for the shudder of cold soaking less. Of course we also dive deep into its three to hikes.

In addition to hiking, Austen gives us an insight into his life as a professional tennis teacher when he seduces mothers in the Country Club and how he managed to press a disc golf in different trail cities during his CDT hike in various trail cities.

We wrap the show with the news from a massive new FKT on New Zealand's Te Araroa, a breakdown of how much Irish heritage leads through our DNA, including some really disturbed family tree mathematics from Chaunce, the triple crown of food combinations and possibly the greatest Limerick in the history of the written language.
