Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Member Kota Srinivas Poojary On Monday, March 17th, the infrastructure minister of Karnataka Infrastructure, MB Patil That Konkan Railway Corporation of Krcl (KrCL) with the Indian railways (IR), will be in general and in particular a massive economy.

He met the minister together with five mlas of the Udupi district, V. Sunil Kumar, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, a .kiran Kumar Kodgi and Gururaj Gantehole in the latter in Bengaluru. Even after three decades of its commissioning, the Konkan Railway has remained a single network, which has the rest of the country massively behind in relation to the railway infrastructure and the resulting regional development.

The inadequate infrastructure has led to a capacity utilization of 175% of the network and also thwarted a further introduction of new passenger and cargo trains, the MP said in his memorandum. While the Indian rail network has experienced a massive development, Krcl could not follow due to eternal funds crunch. The Konkan Railway does not receive household support because it is a separate company, while the rail network received financial support across the country, said the MP.

Mr. Poojary found that Karnataka had invested 50% in Krcl while founding with the IR investments, and the rest was invested by Maharashtra, Goa and Kerala. In the past three decades, Karnataka must have thrown dividends for his investment through improved economic activities in the region. Now it is time for the state to give up its share within the limits of Goa to ensure improved economic development, the MP argued. According to the original agreement, KRCL would have brought together with the IR after 10 years of commissioning, he added. He asked the minister to convey the Ministry of Railway to the state's Ministry of Railway at the earliest.
