From India to New Zealand: Indian man foregoing citizenship by changing the jersey dramatically | Watch viral video

A viral Instagram role entitled “You are awards the Indian citizenship in a funny way” triggered an intensive debate online. The video shows a man who proudly struts and danced in an Indian jersey to dramatically remove it and reveal a New Zealand jersey underneath. The crowd breaks out, and even officials nearby seem to enjoy the performance.

Lakhs received the role of views and triggered a flood of comments by Indian users with sharply divided opinions.

Some users celebrated the change and viewed it as a representation of the upgrade to a better quality of life. A comment was:

“As Indian, Bro literally goes from India (hell) to the sky (New Zealand). I hope that he integrates into the NZ society according to its rules, regulations live the kiwi type of lifestyle.” [sic.]

Another user emphasized the advantages of a New Zealand passport to an Indian in which it was found:

“New Zealand citizenship (developed country) is much better than the Indian passport. If you do not travel internationally, you cannot experience the weakness of the Indian passport.” [sic.]

However, not everyone saw it as something to celebrate. Some users criticized the video and argued that patriotism is deeper than the legal status. One person opposed the feeling, wrote:

“Citizenship is not just a legal status ??? Patriotism is from the heart. No matter where life leads me, my love for Bharat will never fade. Jai Hind! Those who mock their roots only reveal their own weakness.” [sic.]

Another user supported this perspective and added:

“You have a point !!!! I see patriotism as the spirit that drives our collective identity beyond only resources and borders. It is about common values and progress.”

The video has now gone beyond the simple entertainment and has turned into a flashpoint for discussions about migration, patriotism and identity.

While some consider global mobility as a natural step towards a better future, others argue that national pride and cultural roots should not be thrown away so easily.

While the role is spreading further, it contributes to the ongoing conversation about what it really means to leave the house – whether it is a striving for opportunities or a break from the roots.
