Darad said there were 10 cases of attacks on police officers during Holi celebrations. These attacks occurred in the Araria, Munger, Patna, Samastipur and Jehanabad district. All attackers are arrested within a week, he said.
With regard to the latest attacks on the police staff, Krishnan said that the number of incidents had not increased. While Holi received over 67,000 calls to the helplines of the dial-112, while there were 10-12 cases of attacks on police teams, the situation is now under control, he said.
“The incident in Araria is not related to Holi. The police hit the criminal. Since there was a wedding atmosphere, the police did not open fire. The criminals used the situation and attacked the police. In the meantime, an ASI fell on the ground. He died of a head injury.
In Munger, the team reacted to a disturbance caused by drunk people. A malfunction attacked the ASI with a bar on the head.
