In the video, in which more than 11 million viewers have been published on YouTube since its publication on March 15, Rober carries out six tests in which the Lidar technology is evaluated against Tesla's system.

The Luminar shares rose by 29%on Monday, their greatest win in two months. Meanwhile, the Tesla shares fell 6.9%and below average both the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ 100 indices.

A representative of Luminar rejected a statement, while a representative of Tesla did not respond to the request from Bloomberg News for comment.

Rober, who works on both NASA and Apple Inc., now operates a YouTube channel with more than 65 million subscribers.

His description for the YouTube video said that Luminar made the vehicle available for test purposes, but was not financially compensated by the company and the video was not a paid action. Luminars X and LinkedIn accounts have both left links to Robers YouTube video on March 15th.

Despite the pop on Monday, the Luminar shares remain about 80% compared to a one-year highlight in July. After completing the market on March 20, the company will report the results of the fourth quarter.
