Edison Research starts Edison download metrics. This new service, which was developed in collaboration with Soundstack, aims to offer precise podcast download and provide publishers of different standards. Melissa Kiesche, Senior Vice President at Edison Research, said: “We see this as the next step in the efforts of Edison Research, the Podcasting industry to provide data worldwide that help bring more advertising to the room.”

Kiesche emphasized the ability of the service to provide deeper knowledge, especially of smaller and short -term shows. The existing service from Edison Research carries out an annual survey of below 20,000 podcast listeners, which offers a comprehensive overview of the US podcast consumption. However, the new service will improve this through detailed download data operated by SoundStack technology.

Edison download metrics is differentiated by the offer of opt-in, IAB V2.2-compliant download data and ensures that publishers receive trustworthy, industry-dependent measurements. This service complements Edison Podcast metrics, which offers broader insights into the weekly podcast range and the listener habits in the USA and Great Britain.

Rockie Thomas, Chief Strategy Officer at Soundstack, also commented on the cooperation: “We are pleased to bring the technical infrastructure and data with which Edison can provide an independent measurement solution from third-party providers to grow the podcasting industry.” Soundstack is recognized as a certified IAB V2.2 provider, which underlines his commitment to reliable data standards.

Subscribers can look forward to several advantages, including verified download metrics and the ability to integrate these results into the extensive survey data from Edison in order to obtain more nuanced audience profiles and advertising knowledge.
