Johnny Lewis Talley – Sovanow: Home of News and Record and the Mecklenburg Sun

Johnny Lewis Talley, an estimated resident of Clarksville, died peacefully on March 14, 2025 at the age of 78.

Johnny was a proud alumnus of the Bluestone High School class from 1964, where he presented his passion for baseball for the school team for the first time and later for Connie Mack Baseball League. His love for sport continued throughout his life, and he was a passionate supporter of the University of Virginia. Johnny's enthusiasm for hockey hollow fan was contagious and he never missed the opportunity to cheer on his team or take part in one game.

His career was characterized by hard work and commitment. For many years in Burlington Industries before she retired from Revlon. In his later years, Johnny most recently worked on Food Lion and accepted a variety of funny jobs that brought him joy and fulfillment in between. Johnny proudly served his country in the army, an experience that gave him a deep feeling of honor and engagement. His love for life extended beyond his professional and military efforts; He was a spirited dancer, with the turn was his favorite. Every spring he expected to return to the return of the birds, enjoyed feeding them and celebrating the renewal of the season.

Johnny is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn Overton Talley, his daughter Tammy Revis-Bailey (Todd); Grandchildren, Nicholas Bailey (Taylor) and Cpl. Benjamin Bailey; Great -granddaughter, Harper Grace; Niece Alyson Talley Elliott (Michael); and their children Jane Clare, Mitchell and Thomas Elliott; and sister -in -law Nancy Collins Talley.

His parents Luther and Mildred Gould Talley and his brother Frankie Stephen Talley died in front of him.

A memorial service for the celebration of Johnny's life took place on Tuesday, March 18, in the Funeral Home Watkins Cooper Lyon.

Johnny's memory is valued by everyone who knew him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Instead of flowers, Johnny's family asks the donations to Lake Country SPCA.

Arrangements were entrusted with Watkins Cooper-Lyon Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honor a man who had the privilege of knowing him.
