When spring approaches

March 17, 2025

This paid piece is sponsored by Knife River South Dakota.

The temperatures rose, as well as the crowds at the youngest Sioux Empire Home Show.

“It was a good opportunity for people to get out of the house, and at the end of the show it really felt like spring outside, so we had really good conversations when people looked at the planning projects for the coming season,” said Ray Landberg, manager of Hardscapes Outlet, part of Knife River South Dakota.

“That was encouraging and we are excited.

As a Heimathome visitor who learned on Hardscapes' feature stand, a number of new products and aspiring trends are available this year, regardless of whether they are a do -iter or work with a specialist to change their outdoor living space.

Porcelain tiles

Porcelain tiles trend in larger markets in recent years and it has officially made its way to Sioux Falls – with some upgrades.

“One of the largest deductions for people with a porcelain is that it can be difficult to install and there are concerns about how it keeps,” said Landberg.

“We were able to show a revolutionary new product called Geoceramica series from one of our providers, Rochester concrete products, which holds the porcelain on a top layer of concrete, so that it was installed by the actual paving stones.

After installation, porcelain tiles have great advantages, he added.

“It is easy to clean, it is very strong and it holds very well and fades or changes the colors,” said Landberg. “This is the same material used in bathrooms and kitchens, but now it is better for outdoor use and we see it on everything, from roofing to pool decks and small terraces.”

In the entire industry, “you will find every color, every shadow and every texture under the sun in porcelain tiles,” he continued. “So if you want to adjust your garden, you can find exactly what you want.”

Data protection discs

No comprehensive construction project is required to give your back yard a little privacy.

“We had a really good response in the home show on some recent options for privacy,” said Landberg. “They come in a number of sizes and styles, and the versatility is really impressive.”

The data protection discs are relatively light, do not take up a lot of space and do not hold in the elements well, he added.

“People don't always love to look at garbage and recycling boxes or air conditioning systems, and this is a really nice product to cover up some of these things and at the same time convey the appearance of the house,” said Landberg. “I also know people as part of a fence to give a little feeling to a area.

Larger information

Larger pieces of stone or stone to improve the appearance of landscape design also arouse the interest of homeowners.

In the home show: “We showed a Rosetta hard scapes Kodah Wall series, which is a beautiful free stacking wall, and we showed it as a garden bed with a nice water feature that the landscape designer did,” said Landberg.

The wall can act as a side wall on a terrace or as a planter.

“We have a color now, but we have easy access to another and there are several sizes,” said Landberg. “Some need two people to deal with them, but others can move themselves and give a classic look.”

Time to learn more

Now it is time to stop by at hardscapes and to plan for the coming season.

“We are open and the employees report. “The telephones are open and we have the staff ready.

Materials and the overall availability are in good condition, he added.

“Towards the end of the season, we invite you to mulch, sand and gravel because we have an early day with 60 degrees.
