Semo -Football calls new offensive coordinator

Cape Girardeau, Mo (KFVS) – Semo Football officially announced John Holt as the new offensive coordinator and quarterback coach of the Redhawks on Monday.

The signing takes place after the departure of the former OC Jeromy McDowell, who had traveled at the end of February to become the OK at the Saxon Lutheran High School, where McDowell's son Kai is the quarterback.

Holt was most at the Lakewood High School in North Carolina in 2024, where he was a head coach, OC and QBS coach. In 2024, Holt's Lakewood Leopards went 10-4 and reached a quarter-finals of 1a state and reached an average of 34.9 points per game.

Before Lakewood, Holt served as an offensive line -line trainer at FBS School in Georgia State. In 2023, the Panthers only allowed 1.25 sacks per game, so the team took fifth place in the nation in complete offensive.

In addition to his time in the state of Georgia, Holt spent a year at the Dodge City Community College in Kansas and nine seasons with Western Carolina. His stay in Western Carolina ended as deputy head coach, offensive coordinator and O-line coach.

Holt's first trainer experience came with his Alma Mater, Appalachian State. As a player, he won three FCS National Championships with the mountaineers before training the narrow goals and special teams.

Semo Football achieved an average of 415.4 yards per game in 2024 and took the Redhawks 23 in complete offensive in the nation. Under the direction of NFL Draft Prospect Paxon Delaurent, the Redhawks showed one of the country's most fatal attacks and took the 4th place in all FCS with 322.1 yards per game.
