Grandfather killed at McDonald's shooting while getting Happy meals for grandchildren in West Harris County

Houston -A 61-year-old grandfather was tragically killed in a shootout when he tried to get McDonald's Happy meals for his grandchildren.

The fatal shootings occurred in McDonald's near West Little York and North Fry Road. The investigators say that two separate groups have come into a fight before opening each other's fire.

During chaos, Jorge Arbaiza was hit and fatally wounded.

Arbaiza's wife Teresa waited in the parking lot with two of her grandchildren in the parking lot when she noticed that people ran out of the restaurant – except for her husband. She called him immediately.

“He replied and said he was dying,” recalled Teresa. “This is the only thing he could tell me. I couldn't see him. I couldn't even go in to see him. “

The couple should soon celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, but now Teresa is planning his funeral.

Arbaiza's sister -in -law Zoila Garcia described him as a committed grandfather who always made sure that his grandchildren had everything they needed.

“He was the best grandfather,” said Garcia. “He would give everything the children wanted.”

The Harris County's sheriff office says that the people between the ages of 16 and 21 have been involved in the fight. A person from the argument was also shot, but is in a stable state in the hospital.

The authorities are looking for those responsible. The investigators have found a vehicle that they believe was used by some suspects, but no arrests were made.

Teresa Arbaiza has a message for the shooters: “If you have beef between you, please do not solve you with gun violence if there are innocent people.”

The examination continues. Everyone with information is asked to contact the Harris County's sheriff.
