Kent Fire burns more than 100 vehicles in the wrecking yard

It took about seven hours of 40 firefighters to delete a two-alarm fire in a Auto-Abriss-Hof in Kent, which burned over 100 vehicles.

The fire broke on Sunday, March 16, around 1:16 a.m. in Binford Auto Wrecking in the 26300 Block of 78th Ave.

“It took about seven hours to extinguish the fire,” said Pawlak in an e -mail on March 17th. “Firefighters remained on site for another six hours of monitoring for hotspots. As soon as firefighters were able to extinguish the majority of the fire, heavy equipment was used to move the cars individually, and firefighters deleted all hotspots. “

Pawlak said the vehicles were already crushed and in several stacks of about 10 feet. He said over 100 vehicles were involved in the fire.

With a second alarm that brought a higher reaction, 40 fire brigade staff responded to the incident with 16 fire brigade units and two units of King County Medic One. The Zone 3 Fire Cadets supported units of PUGET Sound Fire, Valley Regional Fire Authority and the Seattle fire brigade, said Pawlak.

No injuries were reported and no damage is available, said Pawlak. The cause of the fire is examined by the King County Sheriff's Office, which processes the incident because it was in a non -legal part of the district.
