Man, woman in Coos County Mord examination arrested

According to the Coos County Coos, two suspects were arrested in a murder case.

On March 12, 2025, the Sheriff office received a report by a deceased person in Johnson Mill Pond, a County Park between Coquille and Myrtle Point at 9 a.m. The MPs at the scene discovered that a man who was later identified as Larry Burkhow who had “obtained obvious violence on murdered violence”, said CCSO.

“Without direct information or leads, the MPs initiated a comprehensive investigation that carried out canvas and interviews,” said CCSO. The Oregon State Police, the Coos Bay Police, the police from Coquille and the Myrtle Point police have all contributed to the investigative efforts.

After several information, the authorities of Elaine Warner (57) identified as one person. Warner was contacted in Brookings and agreed to an interview that she was arrested for the second degree murder.

Further investigations showed that a second suspect, Michael Finley, 60. The investigation team, supported by patrol deputies and the service of the US marshal, started a search for FINLEY after receiving an arrest warrant.

He was arrested in the early morning hours of March 15 by patrol members near Langlois, Oregon.

The examination included about 68 hours.

The Coos County Sheriff's Office thanked the assistant authorities together with the Curry County Sheriff's Office and the Brookings Police Department.

Both Finley and Warner remain custody.
