Warn victim of car theft

Milwaukee-the Milwaukee police reports a worrying increase in car theft, in which important new programmers are involved, which aim at vehicles with ignition systems with push-to-start ignition systems.

This trend is not limited to specific brands, since almost every vehicle is at risk with this function, although MPD reports 90% of the Nissan thefts using this method.

Mario Moreno, a resident of Milwaukee, who recently stole his Blue Dodge Charger in this way, expressed his frustration with TMJ4.

“I had to work two jobs to get the car. No peace, no nothing, ”he said.

Moreno took precaution by parking his vehicle in front of his workplace and allowed him to keep an eye on it during the layers. Despite his efforts, his car was stolen only a few meters away.

“I had a window in which I could look at it all the time. As soon as I saw it away, I knew what happened,” he recalled.

Three people were involved in the theft: one drove off his car while the others switched a key to unlock it.

After the incident, Moreno filed a report at the Milwaukee Police Department that examines this trend.

“Our intelligence indicates that the thieves use important programmers to get access to these vehicles,” said SGT. Efrain Cornejo.

Important programmers, which are mainly marketed on locksmiths, enable thieves to grasp the signal from a keychain nearby and unlock and start the car. Moreno has not yet returned his vehicle, although he mentioned that it was spotted several times in the city.

“At this point I don't think I will get it back,” he said.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, at least 19 cars have been stolen with this method in the past two months, and they believe that the number could be higher.

In order to protect vehicles equipped with ignitions, the police recommend the following precautions:

  • Buying a wheel lock
  • Install a kill switch at the ignition of the vehicle
  • Save the key fobs in sheet metal film to prevent access to signal access

Moreno plans to implement these suggestions. “Next time in the future I already know what to do,” he said.
If the car theory continues to rise, the residents are asked to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to protect their vehicles.
