Some residents in Gillespie County asked to evacuate by the spread of fire from I-10

Gillespie County, Texas – Some residents in Gillespie County are asked to evacuate when a fire spreads the interstate 10, as the Gillespie County Communications Center 911 not Emergency Dispatch.

In a Facebook post on Monday evening, the county said that the fire from the I-10 near Mile Marker 498 and the Duderstadt Road to the north.

“There are now evacuations for Duderstadt (street),” said the post office.

The county recommended the residents north of the I-10 or the Duderstadt Road together with those in the Thrill Hill Drive area to evacuate.

“These are very preliminary information, but this fire is spreading. The winds are from the south so that the fire will move north, ”said the post.

The evacuations come when firefighters contain a massive grass fire in Gillespie County.

The Crabapple fire started on Saturday and has burned over 9,700 acres since then, officials said.

The fire will be 65% from Monday, as the Texas A & M Forest Service website shows.
