Date with data marks five years of success and growth

By eniya long '25

March 5 was the fifth anniversary of the date with data, a career fair that combines students with representatives of the local industries for internships and employment opportunities. The event is tailored to technically oriented students who pursue careers in Helpdesk support, software and hardware development, senior use development, IT infrastructure, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The participating majors include computer science, information management systems and business analyzes.

Presented companies such as AFL, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, Milliken and more gave the students a deeper understanding of their current needs. Some of the recruiters were USC -Alumni students of the USC who represented their companies.

One of our seniors, Caeden Sims, is a double main subject in computer science and cyber security. He explained: “This event is a great opportunity for me to network and explore new companies that I had never thought of, like the Milos Tea Company. I was even able to connect with Milliken when I learned something about a work option in live production. “This is something with which he works in school as a student in the athletics department.

Thanks to Georgia McClintock, career advisors with Career Management Services, the event was created in the hope of helping the student to help the network to make connections and job and internship opportunities.

When McClintock was asked about data about their services in terms of data, he explained that the organization of events like this increases their leadership and trusting ability for students.

“The possession of the room from the former administrative assistant to the professional advisor gave the opportunity to take the initiative to talk to the employers to connect with students,” she said. “With the workshops, the individual sessions with students and working on their professional development, this event shows the excitement, their first internship or their first full -time employment.”
