Step behind the scenes of love life in the New York Center, as Kim Kowalke, President and CEO of Kurt Weill Foundation, dipped in history behind the iconic 'Love Song' and received the exclusive first listening of the song listed by John Edwards. Take a look at the video!

Directed by Tony winner Victoria Clark with Guest music director Rob Berman, the encore! Orchestra and choreography by Joann Hunter, Love Life has not been seen in New York for over 75 years. The love life was originally planned as part of the 2020 encores! Series, but the performances were canceled due to the pandemic shutdown.

Brian Stokes Mitchell returns to the role of Sam Cooper, whereby he joined his other actors from 2020 Kate Baldwin (Susan Cooper), John Edwards (Hobo), Sara Jean Ford (Miss Ideal Man) and Clarke Thorell (Mr. Cynic). Andrea Rosa Guzman as Elizabeth Cooper and Christopher Jordan as Johnny Cooper are new for production 2025. Nicholas Christopher, who was previously announced in the role of Sam, can no longer appear due to personal conflicts.

The only collaboration between Kurt Weill (Music) and Alan Jay Lerner (book and texts), this rarely seen musical from 1948 shows a love story that takes place over 200 years of American history that can be seen with the eyes of a family that is never older. Love Life researches the epic and intimate aspects of a marriage through a side base of warm scenes and satirical Vaudeville and is considered the first concept musical, inspiring favorite such as Cabaret, Chicago and Company.

Addition! Love Life offers a scenic design by Ryan Howell, costume design by Tracy Christensen, light design by Paul Miller, sound design by Scott teacher, hair and wigs design by J. Jared Janas and illusions and magic by Skylar Fox.
