Friends, strangers unite on the St. Patrick's Day parties in Indianapolis

“Kilts are incredibly comfortable,” said a festival on Monday. “I recommend everyone to wear one.”

Indianapolis – For three days, people have painted the city green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. They flocked to their favorite -Irish pub for live music and beers.

“Even if they are not Irish, people come out and they are Irish for the day,” said Adam Kilbride.

So what does it mean to be Irish?

“It is very spiritual,” said Kilbride. “It is something you can't necessarily put on your fingers. It is only who you are.”

And in Indiana it won't get Irish than the Golden Ace Inn, one of the oldest Irish pubs nearby. They celebrate St. Patrick's Day for 92 years and celebrated all week. But for Chuck McGinley it is a dream for his family to see the crowd that enjoy themselves on that day. His parents opened the bar after immigrating from Ireland.

“It means a reflection of my mother and my father and all the things that they have taught us about our religion, about St. Patrick, about the good way of life and the good livelihood,” said McGinley, partial owner.

The party continued in the South Pennsylvania Street in the city center, where we found some people like Edd Carson and Michael Murphy, who explored the area from Columbus, Ohio – and wore their favorite clothes for St. Patrick's Day.

“Kilts are incredibly comfortable,” said Murphy. “I recommend everyone to wear one.”

A recommendation that can lead to other options.

“It is a good chance for me to get out and have fun in my Irish Inschützlingen and enjoy the good company of other people who also have a good time,” added Murphy.

And O'Reily's Irish Pub and Restaurant became a place where strangers like Alex Plummer and Chuck became all friends and combined about their love for the day, beer and the spirit of Ireland – on St. Patrick's Day and every day because the good times don't stop here.

“Every day is St. Patrick's Day where you are Irish,” said Kilbride.
