Accept digital commitment and television viewers at Trondheim 2025

March 17, 2025 – The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Trondheim 2025 certainly delivered in terms of action, and this was reflected in a huge digital commitment and the view of numbers on and away from the venue.

The event was a great success in the social media with the four FIS channels -Cross -Country, SkiSprung, Nordic Combined and Para Snow Sports -with a total range of 43.6 million, a growth rate of 169% compared to the previous FIS -Nordic World -Ski Championships (WSC) in Planica 2023, which showed with 1.8 -M -M of 1.8 -m increase drive with a plan with a plan with a plan with a plan with a plan of a plan.

Almost 100 athletes and national ski associations shared the competitive material provided by the FIS -Content Exchange platform on their social media channels with a total range of 3.1 million and almost 130,000 interactions. Apart from a few days when the weather was less than inviting, the Granåsen -Arena was full with around 25,000 spectators. For the cross-country races, thousands were more than 100,000 witnesses, as Klæbo completed his clean sweep from six gold men in 50 km freestyle freestyle.

During the championships there were over 230,000 in the stadium, with at least 170,000 watching alongside the course. And more than 200,000 went to the Medal Plaza in Trondheim's city center to see medal ceremonies and cultural events.

We succeeded in creating the largest public festival in the decade and a historically sustainable world championship. In today's society with so many activities, this is quite overwhelming.

The crowds were also dealt with with the debut of the para disciplines at a Nordic WSC, with the Para Cross-Country sprint events taking place on the same days as the Sprint team.

And it seemed as if someone in Norway who couldn't be there personally were watching at home. Infront Sports & Media, FIS 'media and marketing partner for the WSC, reported on a market share of 90% on television to underline how popular Nordic disciplines are in the guest nation.

Infront also showed strong number of views in Central Europe, with more than 60 million in the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region being discontinued in live programs.

Fans in territories without transmission law transactions were able to see 121 livestreams of Trondheim – including the entire Para sprint events as well as opening and medal ceremonies – on FIS TV and YouTube. These drew 150,000 views during the championship.
