Byu football completes “Give and Take” Spring Scrimmage

Provo, Utah – Byu Football completed the first Scrimmage of spring exercises on Monday afternoon.

The close scrimmage took place in the Lavell Edwards Stadium. According to head coach of 10 years, Kalani Sitake, the scrimmage had around 90 games.

“I thought it was a back and forth,” said Sitake on Monday Scrimmage. “The crime had its moments and the defense had their moments.

“We were able to compete some people.

Last BYU -Fußball -Backup QB Battle

One of the large storylines in the course of spring is still the Backup Quarterback spot. Sitake noticed that RedShirt divided the second and third team repeats evenly in the second year McCae Hillstead and Redshirt Junior Treyson Bouruet. Then Starter Jake Retzlaff took all snapshots with the crime of the first team.

“At the moment we have a situation in which we can somehow balance it, but at some point we have to choose one that will give us the chance to replace when Jake happens.

“But I think you look at the whole of the spring ball and all 15 exercises, it can not only be a scrimmage or an exercise.

During the media observations of spring training, Hillstead showed his game skills with his feet. Two weeks ago, he freed himself on the sidelines for a 60 yard touchdown run.

Bouruet has shown an insight into his arm strength with deep pass tests.

Despite the flash of the big games, it was not consistent enough to say that someone as No. 2 signal behind Retzlaff.

“Really, the truth will be due to who will get the valuable backup repetitions when we come to the autumn camp because it will be the guy who will play into the game,” said Sitake. “I think you can always have a package for the third string type if you need it.

“Give and take” spring crimmage

As for the scrimmage on Monday, Sitake was satisfied with what he saw from his team, which as a potential top -25 squad of the pre -season entered the year.

“I thought the boys did a great job.” Apart from that, there is still some space for improvements, but I like the way the boys work together.

Sitake later added: “I think we are in these where it is only one side that is always frustrating.

Byu football continues the spring exercises by March 29.
