7 top new films that stream this week on Netflix, Prime Video, Max and more (March 18 to 24)

The last year “Mea Culpa” was a barn burning hit against Netflix, which claimed number 1 for several weeks, and this was done despite a poor critical reception (18% achieved on rotting tomatoes). This mystery drama revolves around a powerful lawyer, Marley (Kat Graham), who is faced with a difficult and extremely personal case. But if the couple examines, they are drawn to a deeper conspiracy and their sniffing could have fatal consequences.

“Sing Sing” was in my top -10 favorite films from 2024, so I am happy that the drama does his bow on Max. The arrival on the popular streaming platform should throw fresh eyes on it, and only a few films earn a wider audience more than this.

It is a warm prison drama that is not what you can expect. Instead of dealing with an attempt to escape or a violence of gangs, we see a group of prisoner redemption by getting up and occurring on the stage.

Based on a real rehabilitation program in the Sing-Sing prison in the state of New York, Colman Domingo Divine G, the DE-FACTO leader of the group, is playing when the newcomer Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin (plays itself) joins and begins to upgrade things.
