Fire distiller scales outside the home team BBQ | News

The proximity of the burning shed to the edge of the building in which the home team BBQ is housed gave firefighters little time to react on Monday evening. The first reactors of the crews deleted the fire within minutes and prevented it from spreading, said Jake Andersen, deputy head of the Aspen Fire Department.

Whatever cooked outside the Home Team BBQ on Monday evening was not on the restaurant's menu.

By shooting flames of up to 15 to 20 feet near the trees, a fire was deleted in a shed next to the restaurant at the foot of the buttermilk sky area before it could spread further.

No injuries were reported and at around 8:40 p.m. it seemed to be in the home team as usual where people eat and drank, and in the Inn in Aspen, where the guests checked for the night as if nothing had happened. The restaurant and the hotel are in the same building, divided by the lobby at the main entrance.

About an hour earlier, firefighters quickly turned out a fire, which deputy fire chief Jake Andersen said that it was “great potential” to be great potential due to its proximity to structures in need of protection in order to be worse.

The co -owner of Home Team Chris Lanter, who examined the damage, said that the fire was “very quickly”. The fire seemed to be limited to the scales and “hopefully it was minimal damage.”

“It was only included here,” he said on the website, “and there was no way beyond both sides of the shed.”

Aspen Fire was alerted at 7:37 p.m., said Andersen. It was reported as a garbage container fire that took both Aspen Fire Department and Roaring Fork Fire Rescue in action. The law enforcement authorities of Aspen and Pitkin County provided mutual help.

“We received a call for a garbage container fire in the parking lot near the home team. So several units went on the way immediately,” said Andersen.

The crew members first arrived, “only decided to get a 2 and a half-inch line instead of their normal hand attack line.

Home Team Fire Shed BB

A close look in the shed that caught fire on Monday evening shows part of the damage. In addition to the Home Team BBQ, the shed was at the foot of the buttermilk ski area and was quickly caught up, but was deleted in a short time.

It was too early to recognize the extent of the damage, the cause of the fire or where it comes, said Andersen. At first he felt nothing suspicious and said that he was impressed by the reaction of the crew members to quickly take off a fire that caused more damage.

“If you have a fire that burns it hot, even if it is in an outdoor building,” he said, pointing to the shed and the nearby structure, “you see that the exposure is right next to him, and it is not technically connected, but that is not enough of some removal to prevent the fire from moving from this building into this building.”
